The Overture Series was founded in 2019 with a simple mission: to bring audiences a fresh and unexpected musical theatre experience. Originally launched through the support of Cobb PARKS, the series introduced Atlanta audiences to rarely produced musicals through a unique concert format, proving that even a single performance could leave a lasting impression.

Designed to be artist-friendly, productions were created on an accelerated rehearsal schedule, allowing performers who might not otherwise have the time to participate in traditional theatrical runs. This innovative model brought together some of Atlanta's most talented artists while giving audiences the opportunity to experience exceptional musical theatre that was rarely seen on local stages.

When the pandemic temporarily paused live performances, The Overture Series quickly adapted by producing nationally recognized streaming concerts, expanding its reach well beyond Atlanta and cultivating audiences across the country.

Since returning to live performance, The Overture Series has continued to grow in both scale and ambition. What began as simple concert presentations with music stands has evolved into fully realized theatrical events featuring professional musicians, dynamic staging, and meaningful artistic collaborations. Today, the series presents an eclectic mix of musical theatre favorites, hidden gems, themed concerts, and special events, often partnering with other arts organizations to celebrate the richness and diversity of the performing arts.
